AKTIVITAS ANTIJAMUR EKSTRAK ETANOL LENGKUAS MERAH (Alpinia purpurata K. Schum) TERHADAP Malassezia furfur DAN Microsporum canis
Abstract
Lengkuas merah (Alpinia purpurata) merupakan tanaman yang termasuk dalam family Zingiberaceae. Rimpang lengkuas merah secara tradisional digunakan untuk mengobati penyakit panu dan kurap. Rimpang lengkuas merah mengandung metabolit sekunder minyak atsiri, eugnol, seskuiterpen, pinen, kaemferida, galangan dan galangol yang berkhasiat sebagai antijamur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antijamur ekstrak etanol rimpang lengkuas merah terhadap Malasezia furfur dan Microsporum canis menggunakan metode difusi agar. Ekstrak lengkuas merah dibuat dengan variasi konsentrasi 2%, 5%, dan 10%. Hasil penelitian didapatkan aktivitas antijamur ekstrak etanol lengkuas merah dalam bentuk diamater hambat rata-rata pada konsentrasi 2%, 5%, dan 10% terhadap Malasezia furfur adalah 16,77 mm, 17,91 mm, dan 19,72 mm. Diamater hambat rata-rata terhadap Microsporum canis adalah 10,58 mm, 13,57 mm, dan 14,51 mm. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol lengkuas merah memiliki aktivitas antijamur terhadap Malasezia furfur dan Microsporum canis.
