Hyperglycemia is one of the hallmarks of diabetes mellitus (DM). In 2012 diabetes was the direct cause of 1.5 million deaths globally. Where hyperglycemia is ranked second as the highest risk factor for death. Hyperglycemia that is not treated immediately will persist and can cause chronic disease, namely diabetes mellitus. Shallots have high antioxidant activity, antioxidants and quercetin are beneficial for health and can be beneficial for lowering cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Shallots have the potential to inhibit sugar metabolism in the human body, therefore red onions can be used as an anti-hyperglycemic food ingredient.

Objective: To determine the effect of red onion extract on reducing blood glucose levels in rats with hyperglycemia.

Methods: This study is an experimental study with a pre and post-test control group research design and uses a sample of 30 rats which will be divided into 5 groups randomly with each group consisting of 5 rats including treatment groups I, II, III given onion extract at a dose of 400 mg/kgBB, 600 mg/kgBB and 800 mg/kgBB. The positive control group was given acarbose and the negative control group was given. Observations were carried out for 14 days, data analysis was carried out with the One Way Anova test and continued with the Bonferroni Post Hoct Test.

Results: The decrease in blood glucose levels was seen significantly in the treatment group III with a dose of shallot extract 800Kg/BW, with a mean decrease of 103.17±9.23 mg/dl with the administration of shallot extract for 14 days.

Conclusion: Shallot extract (Allium ascalonicum L) can reduce blood glucose levels in hyperglycemic rats with a significant decrease in the administration of 8 ml onion extract every day for two weeks.
2024-08-12T11:30:41+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://jurnal.univrab.ac.id/index.php/cmj/article/view/5056 GAMBARAN POLA ASUH IBU DENGAN KEJADIAN STUNTING PADA BALITA DI PUSKESMAS LIMAPULUH 2024-08-12T11:33:10+07:00 Yulnefia Yulnefia yulnefia@univrab.ac.id S.M Alfikri yulnefia@univrab.ac.id
Stunting is a growth disorder in toddlers due to prolonged nutrition deficiency. In 2022, the prevalence of stunting in Pekanbaru increased to 16,8%. Based on the 2022 from Pekanbaru Health Office, the highest prevalence of stunting was found in Limapuluh District, comprising of 60 toddlers. This was proven by a pilot study in Limapuluh Health Center with a stunting prevalence of 4,47%. Various factors affect stunting, including maternal parenting. Aside from affecting nutrition, parenting will also affect children’s psychosocial stimulus, health care, and health practice at home. Poor maternal parenting leads to poor nutrition, which in turn will cause stunting. Poor management will lead to short and long-term detrimental effects. This was an observational analytics study that uses a cross-sectional design. The study was conducted within the work area of Limapuluh Health Center Pekanbaru. Samples were obtained with the proportionate stratified random sampling technique with a total sample of 142. Univariate and bivariate analyses were used for data analysis using Chi-Square statistical test. To determine the correlation between maternal parenting and the risk of stunting in 12-23 months toddlers in the work area of Limapuluh Health Center Pekanbaru. There was a correlation between maternal parenting and the risk of stunting in 12-23 months old toddlers in the work area of Limapuluh Health Center Pekanbaru with a p- value of 0,027 and a PR value of 1,826. Maternal parenting was related and was a risk factor for stunting in 12-23 months old toddlers in the work area of Limapuluh Health Center Pekanbaru.
2024-08-12T11:32:02+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://jurnal.univrab.ac.id/index.php/cmj/article/view/5055 HUBUNGAN POSTUR JANGGAL DENGAN KEJADIAN LOW BACK PAIN PADA PEMANEN SAWIT DI KABUPATEN PELALAWAN 2024-08-28T13:13:16+07:00 Yessi Rahayu yessirahayu@univrab.ac.id Retno Putri yessirahayu@univrab.ac.id Liqqa Muqita Supriadi yessirahayu@univrab.ac.id
LBP is the most common work-related musculoskeletal disorder. Lower back pain (LBP) is not a disease or diagnosis. At least 80% of people have experienced LBP. Personal, environmental, and work-related factors can all contribute to LBP. The primary cause of LBP is poor work posture. Palm oil harvesters frequently pose awkwardly. To be diagnosed with LBP, the subject must have had it for a year and have paralumbar or gluteal muscle tenderness, as well as radiating lower leg pain. This study investigates awkward posture and low back pain among palm oil harvesters. This study is cross-sectional. This 75-person study was carried out at Pelalawan Regency. The sampling method was simply random. The data was collected using a questionnaire. According to the Spearman test, an awkward posture is associated with low back pain (LBP) (p-value = 0.019)
2024-08-12T11:32:49+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://jurnal.univrab.ac.id/index.php/cmj/article/view/5165 EFEKTIVITAS PENGGUNAAN VIDEO PEMBELAJARAN ANATOMI TERHADAP KESIAPAN MAHASISWA KEDOKTERAN MENGIKUTI PRATIKUM ANATOMI SISTEM REPRODUKSI PRIA 2024-08-29T12:28:02+07:00 May Valzon may.valzon@univrab.ac.id Tasha Haviva Suhaila may.valzon@univrab.ac.id Huda Marlina Wati huda.marlina.wati@univrab.ac.id
Background: The competencies that medical students must have at the academic level are the realm of biomedical science, medical humanities, clinical medical science and public health science, by paying attention to the principles of scientific method and curriculum principles.
