PENYULUHAN PENCEGAHAN TERJADINYA STUNTING DALAM UPAYA PEMBANGUNAN KESEHATAN DI DESA SINDANGPALAY KECAMATAN KARANGPAWITAN KABUPATEN GARUT

Sindangpalay Village was the first village selected to receive stunting counseling by the Karangpawitan Health Center, because this village has the highest stunting rate in Karangpawitan District. This is an urgent problem because stunting can affect the entire growth and development of children as the successor to this nation. In an effort to prevent stunting, the Karangpawitan Health Center held outreach activities to support changing people's views regarding the importance of stunting prevention. The purpose of holding this counseling is to raise public awareness regarding the importance of child growth and development, increase public knowledge about handling and preventing stunting in children so that it can reduce the percentage of stunting in Sindangpalay Village, Karangpawitan District. The method of implementing this counseling activity is in the form of lectures using power point media conducted by doctors and midwives at the Karangpawitan Health Center and conducting question and answer sessions. The method for evaluating the implementation of counseling with the puskesmas and the village is through observation and interviews with the community regarding the counseling given to cadres. The results of counseling activities regarding stunting prevention have proven effective in increasing cadre knowledge about stunting and the information that has been obtained by cadres regarding stunting prevention and management has been disseminated to the public.
