This study focuses on the effectiveness of journaling in enhancing self-regulation among female adolescents. The research employed a pre-experimental design with a single-group pretest-posttest approach, involving 14 female participants aged 19 to 21 years. The instrument used was the Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SRQ), adapted by Puspawardani (2019). The journaling intervention was conducted over 14 days using a guided journal book, followed by pre-test and post-test measurements. Analysis using a paired samples t-test revealed a significant improvement in participants’ self-regulation (p < 0.001), with the mean pre-test score of 42.36 increasing to 57.86 in the post-test (Cohen’s d = 2.34). These findings indicate that journaling is effective in improving emotional management, impulse control, and future planning. Therefore, journaling is recommended as a practical method for self-development and emotional regulation among female adolescents.
